Dear Amenti,
Over the past little while, I’ve found myself in your spaces, at your Water Bootcamp and events, and often running into some of you around Ubud.
Each time I’ve interacted with your people and your work I’ve had the same feeling – it’s rare to come across people who are both deeply spiritual and genuinely grounded. People who are intellectual, expressive, thoughtful, embodied, and similarly motivated to build something that has real world impact.
That’s something I’ve been seeking for a long time.
I’ve spent a number of years in a very internal phase – I went through a spontaneous awakening, then death and rebirth, and have since been doing my own healing work, exploring embodiment, emotional processing, and spiritual awareness in a way that has been very solitary.
More recently, I’ve been intentionally making efforts to step back into the world, and into community. Being in your presence has felt refreshing in a way that’s hard to put into words. Not just because of what you’re creating, but because of how it feels to interact with it.
When I experienced your work for the first time, I was taken aback because it was the first time I witnessed anyone dance the way I do – through intuitive, unbridled emotional expression. The way you move, the way you invite expression, the way emotion is allowed to pass through the body without needing to be explained… it felt so familiar. Not something I learned, but something I’ve lived.
Before I went through my awakening, movement played no part in my life. I wasn’t able to let loose or move freely (beyond drunken dance floor outbursts). Then one day I woke up with the ability to sense energy and sound in ways I never did before. Not long after, I went to ecstatic dance and ‘cracked open’ on the dance floor – I experienced flow-state, fell into a trance and felt like I was channeling something powerful that expressed itself through me.
From then on, movement became a doorway into spiritual connection, emotional release and intuitive self-expression. A way of accessing states that didn’t always have language, but that were deeply real and demanding to be expressed so others could see, sense and similarly step into the power of allowing energy and raw emotion to pass through the way it’s meant to.
After this, I started working with plant medicine, studied shamanism and held space in many ceremonies, which taught me intuitive movement is an ancient practice and the body naturally knows how to process and express what needs to moved.
When I witnessed Amenti for the first time, it felt so familiar – I immediately recognized what you expressed externally, and held collectively.
At the same time, I also understand what you’re building. Not just as an experience, but as a method. You’ve built a system for embodied self-awareness that allows people to move from internal experience into expressed identity, through the body, through presence, and through shared space. And now, through the Academy, you’re creating something that is beginning to take form beyond the room.
This is where I see a natural point of intersection with my own work. My work tends to sit across the full spectrum of spaces like yours, from holding energy in the room, to designing the experience, to building the systems that allow it to grow.
I work with people who are doing deep, often embodied and hard-to-articulate work, and help translate that into structure, language, and systems so it can continue to live beyond the moment of expression. The work I’m developing through Make Yourself aims to capture transformation, extract meaning, and shape it into something that can be understood, communicated and built upon over time.
In spaces like yours, I tend to move fluidly across different layers of the work.
In the room, I can hold and amplify energy while engaging through coaching, presence, facilitation, and movement.
Around the experience, I think in terms of client journeys, integration, and community.
Behind the scenes, I build the systems and structures that allow bodies of work to function smoothly and scale.
I’m not approaching from the outside, I’m inside this world as well. Not to mention, we have so much in common – from hip hop culture to event production/MCing, marketing/managing recognizable talent, performing, dancing, the ability to not only graciously express raw truth but also receive it, and knowing how to treat people with the respect and unconditional love all humans deserve.
I share all of this not as a pitch, but as context that reveals we have lots of overlapping experience, skills and interests to connect on.
More than anything, I’d love the opportunity to connect more intentionally in-person, have a chat and explore ideas without needing to define a specific outcome. I have a strong sense that I could contribute to what you’re building in a number of ways, whether that’s within the space itself, supporting the experience, or helping shape how it continues to grow.
That said, I have no expectations of outcomes. I know you’re about to head out on tour and things are likely hella busy right now. I trust in the process – reaching out to see what naturally unfolds. I intend to be in Ubud for the rest of the year while I’m working on launching my biz.
Thanks for everything you do! Keep on working that magic and spreading love & wisdom.
Ciao for now,
Jess
