I’m discovering how much freedom comes from releasing the need to understand, explain, or control every emotional experience. For much of my life, I responded to difficult feelings with self-judgment and relentless questioning about why I was reacting the way I was. Now I’m practicing allowing emotions to arise without immediately treating them as problems to solve. I’m learning that some experiences bring breakthroughs, some bring pain, some bring joy, and some simply pass through without needing to become anything more.

1. When Creative Expression Becomes Another Obligation
Summary
I’m discovering that I’ve found a natural and successful way to express myself through spontaneous voice recordings, but the systems required to process and share those recordings are creating a new source of overwhelm. The act of capturing feels easy and rewarding, while the accumulation of unprocessed material creates pressure that threatens my willingness to continue. I’m recognizing how quickly something that brings me joy can become associated with obligation when my brain begins calculating all the work that follows.
Lesson / Teaching
Creative expression and the systems that support it require different kinds of capacity. A sustainable creative practice needs to protect the freedom to create without making every act of expression dependent on immediate processing or completion.

2. Overwhelm, Avoidance, and Abandoned Ideas
Summary
I’m recognizing a familiar pattern where the anticipation of a complex task creates overwhelm, which leads to freezing and eventually redirecting my attention elsewhere. I don’t consciously decide to abandon my ideas. My brain moves toward something new because the original project feels too demanding to complete with the capacity I currently have. I’m beginning to see how this pattern affects my ability to maintain continuity across projects, even when those projects are meaningful to me.
Lesson / Teaching
What appears to be a loss of interest or commitment can sometimes be an avoidance response to anticipated demands. Recognizing the pattern creates an opportunity to distinguish between genuinely changing direction and moving away from something because it feels unmanageable.

3. Building a Business Within Survival Mode
Summary
I’m trying to build a business and creative life aligned with my capacity, but financial survival continues to consume the concentration and development time I need for my own projects. I recognize that building, testing, and implementing systems requires sustained attention across multiple work sessions, and most of that energy currently goes toward paid client work. At the same time, something significant is changing: I’m beginning to develop my own prototypes, tools, and intellectual property through the work I’m doing for clients. I’m experiencing both the frustration of limited capacity and the excitement of finally finding overlap between earning money and building my future.
Lesson / Teaching
When financial survival consumes most available capacity, long-term development becomes difficult to sustain. Finding opportunities for paid work to contribute to reusable systems and intellectual property can help bridge immediate financial needs and longer-term business development.

4. Releasing Scarcity Through Self-Compassion
Summary
I’m noticing how often I approach my responsibilities through a feeling of being perpetually behind, as though there’s never enough time, energy, or progress. I’m recognizing that this pressure doesn’t reflect the complexity of everything I’m managing, including my mental health, well-being, capacity, client responsibilities, and personal dreams. By naming the pressure and reminding myself that I’m doing the best I can with what I have, I’m beginning to interrupt the urgency that makes everything feel like it needs to happen immediately. I want to continue making progress without living from a constant sense of scarcity.
Lesson / Teaching
Self-compassion can create space between the reality of limited capacity and the judgment that we should somehow be doing more. Progress can remain meaningful even when it happens gradually.

5. Safety and Freedom Within External Chaos
Summary
The fuel shortage in Bali has brought forward a familiar feeling of being trapped, which connects to childhood experiences of not having the freedom to make decisions or leave unsafe situations. My disabilities and sensory needs make navigating the external chaos particularly difficult, leaving me physically restricted in where I can go. At the same time, I’m experiencing profound gratitude for the home I’ve intentionally created around my nervous system’s needs. I’m discovering that even when circumstances restrict my freedom of movement, having an environment that supports my body can fundamentally change how I experience those restrictions.
Lesson / Teaching
An environment designed around genuine nervous system and accessibility needs can provide stability during circumstances that would otherwise feel overwhelming or threatening.

6. Astrology as a Meaning-Making Framework
Summary
I’ve developed a personal ritual of using AI and my astrological birth chart to reflect on the themes emerging in my life. I’m not using astrology to predict the future or tell me what to think, but as a framework for exploring possible connections between my experiences, emotions, and larger patterns. I recognize that correlations can be interpreted in many ways and that the tool may not be entirely accurate, but its value for me comes from the curiosity, perspective, and meaning it creates. Rather than needing certainty about why something is happening, I’m finding that the process helps me relate to my experiences with greater openness.
Lesson / Teaching
A reflective framework does not need to establish objective causation to support personal meaning-making. Its usefulness can come from the questions it raises, the perspectives it offers, and the relationship it helps someone develop with their experiences.

7. Recognizing Growth Through Recurring Life Themes
Summary
One of the things I value most about my AI astrology practice is its ability to connect current experiences with themes I’ve explored previously. When familiar challenges return, the tool can help me look back at how I experienced them before and notice how my responses and understanding may have changed. This gives me a different relationship with recurring emotional patterns. Rather than interpreting their return as evidence that something is wrong, I can recognize the possibility that I’m meeting familiar experiences from a different place.
Lesson / Teaching
Recurring challenges can provide opportunities to recognize personal development. Revisiting a familiar theme does not necessarily mean returning to the same internal experience or level of understanding.

8. Presence Without the Need for Explanation
Summary
I’m discovering how much freedom comes from releasing the need to understand, explain, or control every emotional experience. For much of my life, I responded to difficult feelings with self-judgment and relentless questioning about why I was reacting the way I was. Now I’m practicing allowing emotions to arise without immediately treating them as problems to solve. I’m learning that some experiences bring breakthroughs, some bring pain, some bring joy, and some simply pass through without needing to become anything more.
Lesson / Teaching
Being present with an emotion does not require understanding its cause or determining its purpose. Sometimes the practice is simply allowing an experience to exist without resisting, judging, or trying to resolve it.

TRANSCRIPT
Hi, hello, it’s me. It’s the 16th of October.
I have this reluctance to record that I’m feeling because I’ve been in this beautiful cadence of recording every day, and I’m feeling really good about what’s being captured and how I’m able to express what’s passing through.
But now I’m feeling this overwhelmed feeling that is all too familiar, in that I’m recording these, but in order to get them out into the world, I have to, quote unquote, process them. Put them in my little system that’s going to transcribe them and tag and thread them and get them on my website. And then also that can repurpose them or help me turn them into pieces of content.
And all of that takes lots of time and devoted attention and focus.
I’m still stuck at this part of the creative process where the easiest thing for me is showing up and expressing in the moment as things are passing through. And that is proving successful. So that’s good. That’s the positive part of the experiment, is that we found a way to express. Great.
But now, in my brain, I have an understanding of all the steps that could be created for me to simply upload this into a folder and have it processed. But I haven’t built it yet.
And so now I’m feeling this backup of recordings.
I’m like, “Oh, whoa, I’ve got lots of recordings, and they’re not processed, and they’re not on my website, and they’re not on my Spotify, and there’s no strategy to this, and everything is backing up, and it doesn’t make sense. It doesn’t make sense. What am I doing?”
That’s the internal experience right now.
As I go to freely capture my voice, my brain is like, “Don’t do it. Don’t do it. It’s going to create more, and we don’t have capacity for more.”
And so this is where it often gets stuck, is that I freeze.
And because I’m overwhelmed, because I’m frozen, my brain wants to reduce discomfort and reduce the demand on my capacity, and get rid of this kerfuffle, or what feels like this mass that I have to deal with and untangle and make sense of and build and test and QA.
It’s easier to just avoid all that and focus on something else, and create something new, and go about a different idea, or just completely forget about that.
Yeah, this is the pattern I get stuck in.
So what is a way forward here?
I obviously need to create time for building these tools that I require. And my building time right now is being dedicated to client work because I have to survive, and I have to get money in the bank.
And this is the thing when you start to try to build a life aligned with your capacity. There’s only so much capacity.
As much as you can be diligent and mindful of how you’re managing your time, there’s only so much time for building and for focusing.
That type of energy, like sitting and staring at a screen and getting into a flow state and getting into build mode, and being in there long enough to build something, but also to start testing it and start actually putting it to work.
That takes a few work sessions.
And so I am perpetually stuck in this state of survival mode where I only ever make enough money to fucking scrape by at the last second.
And so this pattern is going on and on forever, where all of my productivity time, my concentration time, my development time goes to client work.
The good thing is I have entered a phase where I am successfully applying my client time towards building my prototypes, which is fucking amazing.
This is the idea. This is the dream, building my own business and working for myself.
So when I’m doing client work, I’m actually developing my own tools and my own prototypes and my own intellectual property.
And so it’s great. I can’t complain.
But I hit this wall very often where I want to be building and making progress on other things, like my projects and my podcast and my social content, but all of my time goes to building for other people and creating their content because this is what I’m good at and this is my world.
And so here we are.
I just wanted to express that this is the place where I often just give up on my ideas and lose track.
It’s not even a conscious, “I’m not doing this thing anymore.”
It’s literally my brain sidetracking and focusing on something else, some other new shiny thing, because this thing I know that I have to build, I don’t have capacity for.
And so I deviate away from things that I can’t visibly achieve.
But the problem is I want to keep documenting, and I want to capture all this, but I have to be able to go about it without feeling this tension and this stress every time I want to capture something.
And so I think for me, it actually helps to name it.
Even just doing that and realizing that there are ways for me to track these things that are important to stay on track with.
Because this is a process, and the pieces are coming together. I just have to prioritize where my time goes and also be kind to myself and give myself grace.
And remember that I’m working with a lot of moving pieces.
I’m working with my mental health and my well-being and my capacity and my client work and my dreams, and all of these things are being taken into consideration.
And I’m doing the best I can with what I have, and there’s no need to rush this.
I want to name that as well.
I’m always like, “I have to do this. I can’t be behind. I’m perpetually behind.”
And I don’t want to live that way anymore.
I don’t want to live from this place of scarcity and never enough. Not enough time, not enough energy.
It is what it is.
I share this, my friends, because I know we all do this. We put so much pressure on ourselves to show up a certain way, to achieve a certain way, or to get our shit together and to stay on track and to stop changing tracks.
And we have to give ourselves grace.
And so I am going to keep recording. I’m going to keep capturing things.
And when I deviate to this place of stress, and I notice myself feeling these things and having these reactions and behaviors, I can come back to this message that I have just now put forward for myself, which is:
All in due time.
We are managing the top responsibilities one day at a time. We are getting money in the bank. We are developing our business. We’re building clients, and we’re also making time for our own things when possible.
The thing that I wanted to talk about before I felt the pressure was that I have been regularly practicing this ritual lately of checking in with my AI when it comes to my astrology.
So essentially, I built a project in ChatGPT that has instructions which include all of my astrology metadata, such as my planet placements and my aspects, and all the granular personal astrological data that I have about myself.
And this is easy to grab online through one of those free birth chart calculators.
I’ve given it some other instructions on how to interpret and how to feed responses to me.
I don’t specifically remember what it is, but I have a feeling it’s something like, I don’t believe in astrology telling me, or I don’t believe in astrology dictating what’s happening or how I feel, but instead I believe that there are connections between what I’m going through and what my planetary…
I have no idea what the instructions are. I’m trying to riff, and there’s nothing there.
So I don’t know what those instructions are, but I’m going to find them and I’m going to share them with this post. How about that?
And I’ll probably delete all this because, yes, I’m not sure what the instruction settings are.
But what I love about this tool is that I’m not using it to predict anything, and I’m not using it to be told what to think.
Essentially, what I do is I open a chat and I tell Atlas, my AI, what’s passing through.
So what have I been dealing with this week?
Often it’s like, “Oh, I made a friend, and making this friend really challenged me to think about belonging and community.”
And today I shared about this week where we had this fuel outage, and I feel so trapped.
And I realized that I’m in a place where I literally cannot go get gas because I have a disability, and standing in the blaring hot sun for four hours on a road with motorbikes everywhere and my hyperacusis is just not at all feasible for me.
And that has led me to just feel so fucking grateful for this oasis, this home that I have.
I can’t go anywhere, and I can’t do anything, and that really triggers my feelings of being trapped.
And that’s one of my number one triggers from growing up the way that I did, and from not being able to make my own decisions and not being able to flee when I needed to flee.
It just brings up a lot for me and my body when I feel trapped.
But because I have moved into this home where I specifically have sought out the things that I absolutely, 100% need for this body that I’m living in, for my neurodivergent system, I have to have silence.
And I’ve realized that a pool serves me really well, and a bath that can actually fill up full of hot water, and sunshine and nature.
I can literally step out of my house and I’m on a trail in the middle of rice fields.
It’s so beautiful. It’s so calm. It’s so grounding. It’s everything that I need.
And although I’ve been trapped here, I’m just so fucking grateful, and I feel so blessed.
And it’s really balancing out the state of chaos that’s going on outside my house.
For real, there’s real chaos happening here.
And when you go out in the streets, you can feel this sense of dysregulation, like everyone’s thrown off.
You can’t just go about your normal business. You have to drop everything to figure out how you’re going to get gas.
And gas is what’s going to allow you to make a living. If you don’t have gas, then you can’t run your business, and you can’t get your family to where they need to be.
There’s just a lot of chaos happening outside.
The system is not able to handle the demand, and it really, really makes you think about what could possibly happen, systems falling apart, changing.
It just really makes you think.
And so I shared this in my astrology chat project.
And what it does is it tells me how what’s happening in my stars is filled with similar themes to what I’m going through in real life.
And I’m blown away every time.
And let’s unpack this because I’m sure it’s easy to say, “Well, of course it’s going to find some sort of correlation, and of course you could relate that to this, but you could also relate it to this and this and this and this. It’s easy to just make this shit up.”
And that’s fine.
For me, when it tells me that there are certain planets in retrograde, and those planets deal with these themes, and retrograde means that I’m going to be challenged by those themes…
I’ve been using this tool for almost a year now, and because it remembers, it’s able to actually tell me, “Oh, you were dealing with this theme last year in March, and when you were dealing with it last time, you were really struggling with this, but now you’ve really elevated and moved to this new place.”
And it’s just so fucking cool to have these tools that are able to help you process why you’re going through what you’re going through.
And maybe not even why, but it’s giving me a navigational tool to look at what’s happening to me in my life and in the collective, and to see why certain themes are coming forward, why certain challenges are happening, why certain buttons are being pushed, why emotions are coming forward.
And so even if it’s not 100% accurate, what I love about this is that it’s a meaning-making tool.
And when I wake up in the mornings, I am much more likely to feel positive about the day when I’m like, “Okay, today is just a new day with new planetary alignment and new themes that I’m going to be dealing with.”
And it helps me to understand why one day can go from one thing to another, one mood to another, one thing can go from fucking this to that, and highs and lows and all over the place.
And I spent most of my life blaming myself and being like, “What’s wrong with you? Why are you so emotional?”
So judgmental towards myself.
“Why are you reacting this way? Why is this happening? Why? What did I do wrong?”
And now I’m just like, “Oh, there are certain themes that are going to come forward in my life that I’m going to be challenged by because of the planetary alignment, because my planet is going through this trine position, and that is bringing in three different energies relating to these three things.”
And AI is just so good at pattern recognition.
So being able to make that pattern recognition between what all these planetary alignments mean and how that could correlate with the experiences and the themes that I’m going through in real life…
I don’t know. It’s just such a beautiful tool that I enjoy.
And I don’t use it every day.
I have been enjoying using it more seldomly because within three to four days, it’s incredible what can happen and how much the themes can change, or how much depth can appear suddenly.
Some themes will just appear, and it’s like you just get hit hard.
You know, when the going gets tough, it’s like it just gets one thing after another. It gets worse, and you’re like, “What the fuck? How? Why did I deserve this? What have I done?”
And it’s like, that’s not you. It’s not personal.
It’s just part of the day’s unfolding. It’s just how we’re moving through the world with this energy.
You’re just here to be present with the moment and fucking allow it to happen.
It’s not resisting and trying to control, and just notice, like, “Oh wow, there really is this theme of belonging in my life right now.”
And it feels very present, and it’s bringing forward past feelings that fucking suck.
And I’m remembering those, and I’m feeling those.
I’m not running away from them. I’m not pushing them away. I’m not pretending. I’m not numbing out.
I’m just fucking sitting here with them.
And my brain is like, “Why, why, why, why, why, why, why, why, why, why? Why do I have to feel this way? Why is this happening?”
It’s like, it’s fine. I don’t have to know why. This is just what’s present in the moment right now.
And it might not just be me. It could be the collective. It could be all sorts of things.
All of this stuff is connected, I believe.
And this tool is really helping me, even just to enjoy my life more, because I’m like, “Oh, look at all these things I’m moving through. Look at all these things that are here for me.”
I don’t know. I just wanted to share that.
And if this interests you, I will gladly show you how to set this up in your ChatGPT. It’s super easy.
And I’d like to start creating things when there’s a need for them because I have so many freaking ideas all the time.
But it’s much easier for me to create in the moment when things are wanted, needed.
So reach out to me, please, and say, “Hey, I would love to try out that astrology tool that you use.”
And then I’d love to hear how it goes because it’s just such a powerful tool.
And this is the kind of stuff that I tinker away with with AI, and then I’m like, “Wow, this is so simple, but I built this thing that is a part of my life now, and it’s really helping me to navigate life in a way that’s serving me well.”
And again, even if it’s not 100% accurate, it’s just making me curious.
And it’s giving me permission to let go of trying to make sense of everything, and just allowing these things and these emotions to roll through, and to see how they’re serving me, and to maybe understand that they’re coming forward because there’s something there.
And that doesn’t mean I have to figure it out.
I can figure it out. I might figure it out. But I don’t have to.
Just allow it to be.
Allow it to bring forward emotions. Sometimes it’ll be breakthroughs. Sometimes it’ll be aha moments. Sometimes it’ll just be hurt. Sometimes it’ll just be joy.
Sometimes it’ll be 30 seconds. Sometimes it’ll be four hours.
Who fucking knows?
But it’s just rolling through, and that’s what it means to be present with the moment, to be alive in this body on this earth, connected to all the energies and the elements.
It’s incredible.
I think it’s really valuable that AI can bring these tools in to allow us to move through life in ways that serve us well.
Here I made a new share, and I’m not going to feel overwhelmed about creating more than I can process.
But I am going to make time. I’m going to scrape out a block of time, I think three hours, that I’m going to dedicate to start building my podcast tool.
And remember that that’s a priority for me in between client work sessions.
Deal? Deal.
Okay, man, thanks for listening with me. Talk to you soon.
